Johannes Stüttgen motivates his listeners to find the point within themselves, against all system requirements, at which they can bring themselves into earthly relationships as capable of freedom and thus as co-creators. “Between will and thought, the heart is now at work, in which love for the cause is the only motivation.” (from a lecture by Joseph Beuys, 1977, documenta 6, Kassel). He takes every listener with him in such a way that the impulse to take responsibility in freedom, to be an artist in everyday life, to live democracy, is remembered in us.
Johannes Stüttgen is a freelance artist working in research and teaching on the expanded concept of art as well as a partner and co-founder of the OMNIBUS for Direct Democracy. He studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy under Joseph Beuys.
