The Vocalgourmets ensemble performs French vocal music at the Radolfzell City Library
With madrigals, songs and chansons by French composers, the Vocalgourmets ensemble will present its new program on Saturday, 8 March at 5 p.m. in the Radolfzell City Library. The audience can expect a varied selection of vocal pieces from four centuries. Dancing, intimate, mocking, dreamy – the musical spectrum ranges from sometimes artistic, sometimes coarse madrigals from the 16th and 17th centuries to pieces from the early 20th century by Poulenc and Ravel. Particular highlights include Hindemith’s sensitive settings of French poems by Rainer Maria Rilke and chansons by George Brassens and Joe Dassin, with titles such as “Plaisir d’amour”, Chanson pour l’Auvergnat” and “Aux Champs Elysées”.
The ensemble is supported in true style by Reinhold Jutt from Hilzingen on the accordion. He accompanies the chansons and performs musette waltzes that reflect this irresistible mixture of melancholy, lightness and French charm.
The eight Vocalgourmets are at home in the Hegau-Lake Constance region and have been dedicating themselves to secular and sacred a cappella music from almost all eras for 30 years. They have been directed by the Singen school musician Monika Blaser-Eppler for 23 years. The ensemble is characterized by its richness of sound, harmonic balance within the voices and precision of musical performance. Admission free, collection.
