Finally, “Oesch’s – Die Dritten”, who have long been superstars of folk music in Switzerland, are coming to Germany for a major tour! On Tuesday, 16.09.2025, they will present their new program “Handmade” at the Milchwerk at 8 p.m. and play their best-known songs as well as songs from the new album. Visitors will notice that Oesch’s die Dritten stand for one thing above all: Folk music is music from the heart! Oesch’s die Dritten stand for joie de vivre, family cohesion and respect. Their music combines tradition with modernity, and they are not afraid to weave in elements of country, blues and pop. Whether dialect, German, French, English or Spanish, Oesch’s die Dritten love variety and contrast. With their motto “Oeschmusik is heart music and heart music knows no boundaries”, they bring emotion and enthusiasm to the stage, an experience that no audience can resist.
One of the secrets of the family from the Swiss Bernese Oberland is the cross-generational composition of the formation: the siblings Melanie, Mike and Kevin Oesch are on stage together with their parents Hansueli and Annemarie Oesch and make folk music as if it were the most natural thing in the world. They are joined by accordionist Urs Meier.
The family tradition began with Hans Oesch’s “Trio Oesch”. His son Hansueli continued it with his wife Annemarie and when their three children joined them, the third generation, the group became known as Oesch’s die Dritten. The success story began in the 1990s. Oesch’s die Dritten had their breakthrough in 2007 when they won the Musikantenstadl’s young talent competition. Their CD from that year, “Jodel-Zauber”, stayed in the Swiss charts for months and went double platinum. Since then, the Oesch’s 27-year success story has been unstoppable, with over 2,000 concerts and appearances in 15 nations, a total of 16 albums released, 7 of which have gone gold, 2 platinum and one even double platinum. Not forgetting the PRIX WALO, with which the group has been honored four times.
