Object karaoke – The thing from the depot
At the Radolfzell City Museum, visitors can admire exhibits that bear witness to times long past, the history of the historic city pharmacy, and outstanding artistic achievements. However, interested visitors are normally not allowed to take a look behind the scenes, into the museum’s storage areas, or into its depot.
That will change on Friday, November 6, 2026, starting at 8:00 p.m.: In a fun and entertaining “object karaoke” event at the city library, improvisational artists will present various objects from the Radolfzell City Museum—objects they themselves will see for the first time right there on stage. When it’s their turn, participants are handed a new object every 90 seconds for six minutes, which they must then present to the audience in the most original way possible—without really knowing what it is. Museum educator Jacqueline Berl explains what the object is actually all about after each presentation. After all the presentations, the audience gets to decide: Through the volume of their applause, they determine which participants advance to the finals and who ultimately wins Radolfzell’s first “Object Karaoke.” The contestants include Marvin Suckut, Anna Filipak, Nick Salzflausen, and Till Schaller. Johannes Elster will host the program.
In her writing, Anna Filipak tackles life’s small and big challenges in a humorous and usually quite boisterous way. When she’s not wreaking havoc on stage, she’s studying German and French education at the University of Tübingen.
Nik Salzflausen, also known as Niklas Ehrentreich, was born in Rheinfelden in 1988. After graduating from high school, he studied history and German at the University of Konstanz and Oregon State University. Since completing his teaching internship, he has been working independently as an author, host, and public speaking coach.
Marvin Suckut is one of the best-known poetry slammers in the German-speaking world. He has now performed in over 1,500 poetry slams, readings, and other literary events. Since 2010, he has lived and worked in Konstanz, where he organizes and hosts his own literary events around Lake Constance.
Till Schaller lives in Allensbach, but he is originally from the Black Forest. When he isn’t at his architecture firm or on a construction site, he enjoys traveling, drawing, and writing.
