Reading show with René Sydow
On 25.04.2025, René Sydow, previously better known as a cabaret artist, will be reading from his recently published novel “Die große Sehnsucht” at the city library.
A small town on Lake Constance, 1996. In the coldest winter for a long time, three friends from their A-levels are standing on the jetty looking out over the lake. Rabe wants to study film and is more focused on his script drafts than on school. Thomas, known as Fete, never misses a party and has a reputation as a heartbreaker. Michi also knows exactly what he wants: revenge on the math teacher who embarrassed him in front of the class. So many dreams, so many desires – and days that none of the school leavers will forget in a hurry …
A cheerful and melancholy novel about an unforgettable time, the first steps in life and the great longing that is inherent in every age.
And if some of it sounds familiar… you might even be right. René Sydow grew up on the Höri and spent his childhood and youth here. So the novel contains some memories of his own past.
